Today's projects are excessively complex. Project managers face a web of interconnected systems, continuous information updates, and political minefields that threaten their success. It's a marvel that any project (and project manager) finishes successfully. An ancient philosophy is once again rising in popularity to help navigate complexities, make decisions under duress, and not compromise a person's integrity or code of ethics. These practices are being used in business, professional sports franchises, and, now, project management.
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Adapt the primary principles of Stoicism to project environments to simplify complex situations and make difficult decisions while under duress.
- Apply Stoic techniques to specific scenarios to ensure alignment to project management ethical behavior and improve project outcomes and successes.
